Way back in April of 2012 I hit one of my high water marks with a cap called Evie's Fantasy. It was my first (kind of second?) use of my Kinetic Text style. It was a cap that was 18 panels long though not nearly my longest story.
One problem I had with it, was people having to flip through 18 panels. Blogger didn't (and still doesn't) have a good method as far as I'm concerned for presenting a slide show on a single post. So after posting it to Rachel's Haven, I made a video. It wasn't anything particularly fancy, just a slide show of the images so you could sit back and let them leisurely flow by. But I made a title card and a credit card and even set it to music.
And then all hell broke loose as I couldn't get the video hosted anywhere. Not YouTube, not DailyMotion, not even Blogger itself. I futzed around for a few days trying to find a way to host it, but ended up just putting on my D+X gallery. My friends at D+X could see it, but you had to set up an account there and I couldn't link directly to it from here. I eventually just gave up on the general public seeing the video.
Eventually even the D+X link went down as D+X was reborn and I never re-uploaded it. I mean... it's thirteen years old now!
Since then I've all but stopped making caps. When I hit up new avenues for sharing my caps like Twitter, I more or less just post my old stuff.
Fast Forward to December of 2024 and I found Blue Sky. As I have a personal dislike of Twitter (I still refuse to call it X) I wanted to establish another social media outlet. Somewhere that I could keep up with media creators that I liked and another outlet where I could post my caps. Since then I've been daily posting my caps one by one.
Today, I posted Evie's Fantasy there. As usual, it's a pain to post 18 panels in this format as I put each panel as a reply to the main post. Ick. It reminded me of wanting the video. I even went back and watched the video. Ironically I recalled the video being HUGE... it's all of 26 MB. I tried to upload it directly to Blue Sky but they have a limit of three minute videos and the Evie's Fantasy video is over four minutes long.
Then it hit me. A good use for Twitter. Because twitter doesn't give a fuck about copyright or nudity, it would have no problem with me uploading this video, right!?
RIGHT!
It took it just fine.
I hate having to link to it as I eventually want Twitter (X) to die, but it's still there and for now, it's the home for the video of Evie's Fantasy. So after a thirteen year buildup I can finally present the video for this cap. Enjoy!
