Where is Caitlyn?

I've spread my wings in the past few years and am now in plenty of places, all with its own original content.  Each location I'm at has its advantages and disadvantages.  I'm at Blogger (twice), Fictionmania, tumblr, Twitter, and most recently CHYOA.  I'm also found at Rachel's Haven, D+X Institute and on Discord.

Lemme go over these places, what I use them for, and their advantages and disadvantages.

For the quick TLDR version I'm at:

Blogger
Obviously, as you're reading this on blogger, I'm on Blogger.  I have both my Caitlyn's Masks blog and my Calvin's Musings blog.  The Caitlyn Blog is my home base.  If I had to only keep one 'home' I'd keep this.  It's where I planted my first flag, and where I keep up with my caps and update other bigger projects.

My Calvin Blog is more personal.  More me.  It's behind the scenes.  Wanna see why I buy three computers in three years?  Wanna know what I'm driving?  Wanna know more about my job or my general health?  Then that's the place.  I do occasionally write about my writing or artistic/creative side, but it's more about the process over there than the product.  Not about the story, but about writing the story.

Blogger is good with displaying images.  I see quality problems on most other venues and as a content creator, I can't stand seeing the quality of my images reduced.  If I put out a relatively high res image (cap) then I want you to see it in that format.  I don't want to see it compressed and look all jaggy (thanks twitter!).  It's also incredibly easy to publish from.  But easy also means it's a pain to really customize.  I had a true struggle when I updated a page and wanted the text to flow around an image.  It took me twenty minutes to figure out the problem and I had to go into the html/css to fix it.

The only bad thing I can think of is access.

Now, I love Blogger but Google has become quite the pain about the cross roads between protecting our youth and protecting privacy.  My blogs are both 'Adult'.  I have no problem admitting to that.  I'd rather not be a corrupting influence on some young child.  Yeah, I might be an 'inspiration' to someone that's finding themselves and is learning about gay/lesbian/queer/man/woman/queer/transgender/feminization... BUT, I touch on those subjects in a very 'Porntastic' way.  You'd have to read between the lines to learn about these things on my blog and those lines are drawn with big fat cock shaped crayons.  So... I don't mind calling both my blogs 'Adult'.

Back when I started the blogs, that simply meant it would put up a warning that it was adult content and you had to agree that you were 'of age' and willing to see adult content.  But, laws being what they are, Google now wants to play it safe (at least that's why I think they're doing this) and wants you to not only have an account, but have something on that account that proves you're of age.  Generally that's a phone number or a credit card.  Both of which are very personally identifiable.

Now, most people have Google accounts.  They do NOT want that google account associated with me (and those cock shaped crayons).  They could make another account, but there's that fear that the account would be traced back to them as it would have identifiable information.  I personally feel that it's safe as my 'normal' account is very locked down.  It has my phone number, all my credit cards, my full name, my birthdate, and my address.  I believe it even has some health information.  And so far as I know, no one has access to any of that unless I give specific permission to view it.  Like the health, you can see on my phone under emergency information.  I want the EMTs to see that I'm diabetic if they ever find me unconscious.  But I don't want my boss at work to find out that same thing.

So, I can appreciate why people don't even want to set up another account to access 'Adult' content on blogger.  And since they've introduced those safeguards, my viewership has sunk. Although I'll also say that that's right around the same time that my mobile viewership started to exceed my desktop viewership and my blogs and most of their content are not setup for quality mobile viewing.

Anyway, it's still my major home but I have to accept that they're now behind moral paywalls and many people aren't willing to pay that price.

Fictionmania
Fictionmania is the second place I ever posted content and is currently my site of choice when it comes to posting longer writing content.  My stories are there and really nothing else. I have about twenty stories that come from caps so I don't consider them 'new' content but they're extended and longer versions.  But after those, I have full length stories that aren't available anywhere else including Opals and Pearls, Thesis, Just Dance, and eventually You're Not The Boss Of Me!

Fictionmania is great at hosting written content.  They make it easy to read the story however you want to read it.

The downside of Fictionmania is that it's about as old as dirt.  It looks like you're viewing a site on the way back machine.  Even in its most 'quality' version of displaying a story, it's just cheezy looking.  Adding images is something I haven't tackled (and honestly don't plan on doing) but I see problems with that too in quality and placement.  The publication process is also a bit involved.  I know they have their database and want information for stuff like 'original name' and 'new name' and age group, but it's a pain do put all that information.  It's a HUGE pain when you're publishing every day like I did when posting Just Dance as a multi-part story.

tumblr
I'd used tumblr as an image finding tool for awhile.  When I joined it was initially just to 're-blog' some post and add a quick story too.  Later I started pulling the images out and posting longer stories and I continue to do that but my posting is irregular.  My content on tumblr though is completely unique.  It's never copied over here.  Even the 'tumblr' rejects that I post here are unique in that you can't see them on tumblr and they're only available here.

The good thing about tumblr is ease to view content.  I make sure to follow people who share images that I like.  Some are just beautiful images, some are porntastic, some are sissy/feminization based.  It's also incredibly easy to post there.  I hit the 'Create' button, hit the 'Photo' button, paste my story (I imagine I could write it there, but I prefer doing my writing in Word), then copy the image over in the place I want it.  I've even done a few posts with multiple images placed throughout the story and it wasn't any more difficult than dragging the image up to the particular paragraph I wanted it to follow.

The bad thing about tumblr is its inconsistent adult content filter.  I can find true porn on tumblr.  I'm talking about a video of a naked man roughly fucking a woman wearing only her stocking and stripper heels while she calls out what a big fucking cock he has.  P O R N.  But at the same time, I'll get posts denied because they have a animated gif of a girl bound when she's wearing a body stocking and heels and showing no private parts.  And no, its not the bondage, as there are plenty of images on that subject too.  I had one story/post I made where the image was a woman kneeling down and kissing the panties another woman was wearing.  Erotic?  Yes.  Porn?  Maybe soft porn.  I wrote the story AROUND the image, as in I mentioned details like their position, the hair style used, and even the jewelery they were wearing.  So when it got denied, I had to find another image that would work with the story and then edit the whole thing to work with that image.  Its incredibly frustrating and does limit some stories I get inspired to write as i know they'll just be kicked back.

Twitter (X)
First things first.  I refused to call this X.  At least for now.  It's a stupid name and it makes referring to it difficult.  I also dislike Musk, hate what he's doing to the platform, and believe it's destined for the trash heap of history.

That being said, I'm there.  As I write this I'm just posting my caps.  I post two a day, an 'older' one and a 'newer' one.  Except for when I was on vacation, I post every day.  Once I have all my caps posted, I'm not sure what I'll do with Twitter.  I mean... can you imagine me regularly using a format that LIMITS how much I write?  My 'hello' post was a thread with like ten parts!

The good thing about Twitter is audience.  It's daily user base blows away Blogger, Fictionmania, and tumblr.  It's also fairly free with its adult content.  I think they're using the old Blogger method of you simply have to be logged in and 'agree' to view adult content.  I don't think it requires any identifiable information to prove you are 'of age'.

The bad thing is image quality and audience.  It shows images as it wants to.  My caps aren't easy to read on Twitter on a phone.  It's not bad on a tablet, and fine on a desktop computer or laptop.  But even on a computer it depends on your resolution.  It stretches out some of my older caps and makes them look like crap.  And even when it's displayed at the correct resolution, its method of reducing the file size impacts the image quality in ways I don't like.  As for the audience, I know there are a lot of people using twitter, but I'm finding it difficult to find traction there.  My most recent cap was posted to Blogger and Twitter on the same day.  Seven days later, Blogger has 1400 views while Twitter has less than 400.

The audience problem might just be time though.  I'll at least post all of my caps over there.  Only then will I decide if I'll continue to use it.

CHOYA
This is my newest playground.  It's a site dedicated to writing adult erotic choose your own adventure stories.  I guess in its purest form, you can end each chapter with choices that lead you to entire new wings of the story.  You can even open it up so that multiple people can add to the story, taking it in many different directions and told in different voices.  There's a couple stories and authors over there that I'm growing to be quite the fan of.  So, I decided to put my toes into the water and see what it was like.  Even if no one joins me on writing a story, it still forces me to write the story one chapter at a time without going back to edit something or add/remove details after the fact.

The good thing about CHOYA is it's new (to me).  When playing around with it it's inspiring to see how it's been used.  VanillaThunder has a story there that different authors have taken into two distinctly different directions.  I'm talking about a forced feminization story where one path leads to a fairly normal 'tomboy' girl and the other leads to a 'boy crazy bimbo'.  And honestly, both paths are unique and interesting while still utilizing the same characters.

The only bad thing I've seen about CHOYA so far is the site looks a little old, and the formatting isn't the easiest to navigate.  But I'm still learning it and have a ways to go.

Those are the places I have content, but I'm also on (or have been part of) some other sites or programs.

Rachel's Haven
Quick word, if you're heading there to see me... I haven't actively used the Haven in years.  My content, I believe, is all archived away and not easy to find.  That being said, it was such a big part of my 'growing up' in this world that I couldn't NOT mention it.  It's also one of the only other sites that I've financially supported and supported with my content.  Their online magazine (The Haven Quarterly) has several caps of mine that are only available there.  If you want to find a warm welcoming community full of people that will help you cap, write, or even just enjoy the formats.... I can't think of a better place to start than the Haven.

The D+X Institute
I've only role played in the forced femme style in several places.  The only one that kept my interest is D+X.  They're another site that I continue to financially support.  I have a character there that I started over ten years ago and is still going.  I'd say 'going strong' but I do tend to pop in for awhile, then pop out.  Since COVID, my time there has been even more sporadic and as I write this in November of 2023 I'm not currently playing.  But, even when I'm not there, my character is, so if you want to "Come Play With Me" then that's the place to do it.

And yes, several people that knew me from here got to experience being transformed into a girl at the Institute BY me.

Discord
I joined Discord for the first time to chat with other D+X friends.  For the longest time D+X had a 'shout box' that was like a big chat room above the forum.  I guess it's technically still there.  But most of the activity that used to exist there, moved over to the Discord.  Since then I've joined channels for the Haven, for capping, for playing D&D, for a couple forced femme games I play, for TG Comics, and a few artists that I enjoy and used to support.  I'll generally peek into Discord at least once a day and most often it will be up in the background.

I don't always respond to people as like any service, there's spam and people using Discord with malicious intent.  But if you mention you're reaching out because you saw my blog, then I'll be sure to add you and will at the very least say hello.

My username is caitlynmasked there.  I was originally known as Caitlyn#3335 before they settled out their usernames.

Email
Yeah, I'm still a fan of email.  It's the first thing I check when I pick up my phone or log into my computer.  It's where any notifications go from any of the above sites.  So, if you want to use the simplest method of reaching out to me, you can email me at caitlynmasked@gmail.com.  If you mention that you know me from the blog, I'll respond.  If I don't respond... well, I don't check my spam folder and I unfortunately get a LOT of porn spam that looks like they're form people.  Sorry about that.
