Monthly Report - October 2012

Serving up 60,230/85,921 Page Views

I have to admit, I hesitated even making a monthly report for October. Only three days after posting the September Monthly Report, I had a crisis of persona's and posted "Being Caitlyn".  Since then I've only posted three caps.  Only one would I call a classic 'Caitlyn' style cap.

But as I thought a bit longer, I realized that months or even years from now I might be going through these reports and wonder why I hadn't made one for October 2012.  I won't got into nearly as much detail, but I will share some numbers:

  • Total Page Views: 60,230/85,921
  • Total Visits: 18,584 (Averaging 4.62 views per visit)
  • 15,377 Visits were from referrals
  • 1,893 Visits were direct traffic
  • 1,314 found their way here via search
This is my second lowest number of pageviews since the blog hit it's stride in December of 2010.  The lowest was in March of 2012 when I took half the month off to study for the NCLEX.  I guess that says a lot as in March I produced 10 caps out of 12 posts.  As I said earlier I only made three caps in October out of 7 total posts. So thank you for still stopping by even though I'm not being nearly as productive as I have in the past.

The highest viewed caps of October:

It's no big surprise that three out of these five posts are from September (Blame Game, Denial, and Bit by Bit).  Cap posts almost always get more pageviews than conversation posts, and these were the last few caps from September.

Right now November looks to be about as active as October.  Maybe even slower as I'm not really up to discussing my 'Being Caitlyn' issues any longer.  I'm still having trouble on that side, and it's keeping me from capping.  As an example I really wanted to make a Halloween cap, but even though I found many many photos (some clean, some smutty), none of them inspired a story that I could get out.

I do want to another thing here.  Not about 'Caitlyn' but about this blog.  Since I've removed the captcha requirement to post comments, I've gotten quite a few spam comments.  It didn't happen at first, but I get at least a couple a day now.  Thankfully blogger catches most of them, and I can delete them without them ever showing up on the blog.  I've found that most are a generic 'Hey, I liked this post and you seem to be well informed on this subject...' style comment and then a link to some other site.  I don't bother reading them, and delete them without pause.

So if you post a comment that includes a link, and it doesn't show up... it's been flagged as spam.  And more than likely I've deleted it without looking at it.  It's nothing against you, or even linking to something.... its just me limiting my time policing.  If this happens, just send me a message in the 'Ask Caitlyn A Question' and I'll see if I can either NOT delete it, or look for a repost and let it go through.

  1. Hey Caitlyn,

Sorry to hear that you're still having problems finding inspiration to cap. And while I can't comment on the exact difficulties you're facing, I know how incredibly frustrating it is to stare at an image, knowing that there is a story there, and still be unable to do anything with it. So try to hang in there, and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I'll keep coming back here, no matter how often you're posting.

In other news, I've been getting a lot of spam on my blog too. Luckily blogger has been pretty good about catching it, but it's still annoying.

  2. Sorry if my suggestion has led to more spam. Easier for us lurkers shouldn't mean making more work for you, especially when capping is currently a struggle.
