Pardon me while I bask in my own awesomeness!
How do you find the time to put together such superior captions?
They are really good!
Stop Danielle... you're going to make me blush!
Seriously, thank you for the incredibly kind compliments. I don't know that I would really use the term 'superior' in such a general way though when it comes to my captions. I mean first of all beauty is in he eye of the beholder. I certainly like my captions, and it sounds like you enjoy them. But I would never say they are the best. Are they 'superior' to some captions? Yes... I think I can say that without getting ego all over the place. Are they 'superior' to all captions? Oh God no. Not even I would rate my captions that highly.
But the sentiment is certainly appreciated.
As for the question about time. Well that's easy. I work about 5 hours a week, and study occasionally. The rest of my time is spent 'playing'. I watch television and movies, I play video games, I role play, and I cap. The fact that I can put out so many caps right now may be good for people who enjoy them, but I would much rather be working 40 to 50 hours a week and only have the time to put out one or two caps a week. And I would absolutely LOVE to be working 40-50 hours a week and have such a robust social life that takes up almost all the rest of my time leaving almost nothing left for capping.
The time it takes to make a cap is really varied for me. Sometimes I hit it just right... I'm in the mood, I find a picture that tells me a story, I write it out in the first try with very little editing, I put it into an interesting design and post it all within an hour. Most of the time not everything lines up that good and it can take two or three hours to bang out a cap. And then there are times that it will take me hours upon hours to make a cap.
And then there is the dreaded time that it never comes together. I spend a couple hours trying to make a cap, but end up with nothing to show for it.
So how do I find the time to make captions? To put it simply, I have a lot of free time an empty social calendar and it doesn't take that long to make a caption.
I also have another question that really didn't warrant it's own post, so I'l just tack it on here:
Loved the schoolgirl revenge caps. What was the source of those?
This question came in from Pyrite (That name reminds me of the gold dragon in Dragonlance!)
Thank you for the kind words about the cap. I'm actually enjoying the cap a little less now as I feel like I phoned in the story and let the design stand up half finished. I got the images from fuskator.com, and that's where I get almost all of my images now a days. They post so many 'new' galleries each day that its easy to find some inspiration there. Plus they have so many galleries (a little over 78,000 at last glance) that it's easy to search for particular galleries (in this case I found that gallery by searching for 'redhead').
The only problem with fuskator is that they post galleries from all over. So far as I can tell, they don't create their own original content. Most of the time you can find out where the images originally came from, but sometimes that information just isn't there.
In this case, there was a watermark on the photos saying that they came from www.teendreams.com, and that it was originally from 2006. I hope that helps!
